Bob Maiden, Human Capital Management Team Leader, FOCUS Investment Banking, LLC

Bob Maiden is currently a Managing Director at FOCUS Investment Banking LLC where he leads the Human Capital Management Industry M&A team. His clients are business owners looking to sell their business to either strategic or private equity buyers, and their businesses are typically in the $10MM to $100MM revenue range. 

Mr. Maiden started his career as a CPA with KPMG and was also CFO for a startup software firm.  Mr. Maiden was co-founder and President of Maxwell Training Centers, a brick-and-mortar workforce training firm later transformed with a web-based SaaS model.  Under his leadership, the Company earned four Wharton/Philadelphia Business Journal Top 100 Awards for being a Fastest Growing Privately Held Business.  After 16 years of growth, Maxwell was acquired by inVentiv Health. After the sale, Mr. Maiden managed the integration, and led additional growth of the Company, staying with inVentiv for seven years. After his departure in early 2013 he launched his M&A advisory practice, focused on middle market staffing, recruiting and HR technology companies. Prior to joining FOCUS, Mr. Maiden was a partner at Stony Hill Advisors in the Philadelphia area where he founded and led the firm’s Human Capital Management M&A practice.

Mr. Maiden has served as a judge and mentor on many entrepreneurial initiatives including Comcast Business Innovation-4-Entrepreneurs; Temple Fox School of Business Be Your Own Boss Bowl; The Young Entrepreneurs Academy (YEA!); Mercy Vocational High School; and has taught workshops at Drexel University’s Close School of Entrepreneurship on “Accounting for Startups.”

Mr. Maiden graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. in Accounting and a minor in Manpower Management.


Adam J. VeVerka, Partner, Business Development, NewSpring Capital

Adam VeVerka is a Partner at NewSpring Capital, leading the Firm’s business development efforts for all of NewSpring's investment strategies. He joined the NewSpring team in 2006, supporting the investment activities of the Firm in diligence, structuring, underwriting, modeling, monitoring, and exiting portfolio investments.

Before joining NewSpring, Adam was an Investment Banking Analyst at Credit Suisse. In this role, he assisted on several transactions in the financial services and financial technology sectors.  Prior to investment banking, he worked in Credit Suisse’s Information Technology division, where he worked closely with the Chief Technology Officer evaluating new technologies and strategic projects for the firm. 

He received a BS from the University of Cincinnati’s Honors-PLUS business program.

Adam is highly involved in the private equity and venture community with current and former leadership roles in organizations including Mid-Atlantic ACG, PACT, AM&AA and NFTE. 


Geoff Sheehan, Senior Vice President, Head of Commercial & Industrial Banking at Meridian Bank

Geoff Sheehan is a Senior Vice President at Meridian Bank where he is Head of Commercial & Industrial Lending. Meridian Bank is a locally headquartered, business-focused bank that helps businesses throughout the Delaware Valley succeed by offering superior products, experience, and service. He has been with Meridian since 2006, working in various roles in the Commercial & Industrial Lending group, but always with a focus on helping companies prepare and finance plans for growth, acquisitions, and succession as well as the constant need for working capital.  Geoff is very experienced with the diverse and unique financing needs of privately held companies. 

Geoff plays an active role in his community. He is on the Board of the Bryn Mawr Rehab Hospital Foundation, the Chester County Chamber of Business & Industry, and SeedcoPA. 

Geoff graduated from Penn State University with a Bachelor’s of Science in Marketing. He also has a degree from ABA Stonier Graduate School of Banking with a certificate in Leadership from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Raymond Lee, Founder and President, Careerminds

Raymond Lee is the Founder and President of Careerminds, a global outplacement firm headquartered in Wilmington, Delaware. He launched his company during the recession of 2009 and raised $3M in series A funding in 2010 which allowed him to scale his company to profitability and become a leader in his industry.

He is a 6-time Philadelphia100 hall of fame winner and a 4-time INC5000 recipient. His company was recently acquired in March of 22 by Talent Inc & Boston Ventures.

Raymond has contributed to SHRM, ATD, and other publications on topics such as the future of work, entrepreneurship, and career fulfillment. 

He has a bachelor’s in psychology and holds a Master’s Degree in Industrial/Organizational Psychology from Louisiana Tech University. He is an active speaker through the SHRM’s speakers bureau and recently published a book titled, Clocking Out, A Stress Free Guide to Career Transitions.

Raymond’s been featured on SiriusXM Business Radio, HR Podcasts, and the Wall Street Journal.
